We absolutely know that you've been waiting with eager anticipation for a feature to come along that catalogues examples of new games that share an identical name with an old game. Games industry veteran Paul Conry - who is 100% Denki - has joined the company as head of Denki's new test team. Paul will oversee test and quality assurance for all of Denki's current and forthcoming projects. Paul has worked with games companies including Mucky Foot, Lionhead, Broadsword Interactive and Realtime Worlds, for the last three years. His credits include titles such as Fable, Impossible Mission, Blade 2, Super Fruit Fall and APB.

Speaking to VG247, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has listed a string of minor imperfections that niggle him about Fable II, saying previous statements about elements not being perfect in the game are merely borne from honesty.

Molyneux - next-gen is all about middleware (News)

Speaking to Gamasutra, Molyneux has been full of praise for middleware and the importance it will play in the development of next generation video games.

"[The] next generation is going to be all about that technology. It's going to be all about the technology behind faces, and behind animation, and blending," said Molyneux. "And that's blending everything - blending the graphics, blending the music, blending the gameplay."

Molyneux is currently hard at work on Fable 2 for the Xbox 360, and says that he is enjoying being able to design properly again. He also reiterated previous comments about emotions in the game.

" want you to feel real emotions with Fable 2 that you haven't felt before. I want you to experience things like unconditional love - that's what I'm trying to get to," he explained.

The clue is in the title: Fable. It was supposed to be the game that let you write your own adventure. If this were a magazine given to swearing then that statement would be followed by an eight-letter word beginning with 'b' and ending with 'ollocks'. Fable lets you do nothing of the sort. It's probably best to get that major criticism out of the way first. It feels as if we've been waiting a long time for Fable. First announced three years ago at Microsoft's X01 press shindig (where it was called Project Ego), Lionhead's Peter Molyneux promptly declared it to be "the greatest RPG ever". While Molyneux today admits that "really, we just had a few concept sketches and a very basic demo of a hero standing there...
