Fight Night 2004

Stupid game terminology

We translate baffling game phrases. Apparently, a Trimodal Ectosphere is a blob

Words: Dave Meikleham, GamesRadar UK

Some people simply can't call a spade a spade. Or, in the case of video games, call a health pack a health pack, instead of a multi-purpose, cosmic healitron 3000. And we’re glad they can't, as trying to give games extra context or dimension by pasting unnecessary and sometimes baffling terminology onto simple, every day game actions or objects is great. Below are some of the best examples. Now, where did we put our Flash Liquidizing Ultra Dousing Device? The windows need a wash.

the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System has to be something more than just aiming, as the first? DLC required someone with that to enter a VI training scenario

What is it? A plot device actually put in use so that other developer's couldn't fuck up snake's character if they took over from Kojima.

(Because we all know snake dies after mgs4 pretty much - SPOILERZ)

Some of the jargon makes sense. The others are just unnecessary buzzwords to make the concept sound cool.
