Xbox One gets 10 more backwards compatible games and a free copy of Witcher 2

Xbox One just got 10 new backwards compatible Xbox 360 titles, and Microsoft says we won't have to wait so long to see more roll out in the future. There aren't too many big names on this list, but the good news is that arguably the biggest one is free for everybody:

- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
- Sam & Max Save the World
- Aegis Wing
- Counter-Strike: GO
- Age of Booty
- Space Giraffe
- Soulcalibur
- Skullgirls
- Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
- Small Arms

Microsoft and CD Projekt Red are giving away The Witcher 2 to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners in the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany from today through February 5th. It's not part of Games with Gold, so even Xbox Live Silver members can head over to the Xbox marketplace and claim a copy.

If The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was your first journey with Geralt, you should be able to adapt quickly. But be forewarned, two of Wild Hunt's most compelling features - Gwent and real-time beard growing - were still just glimmers in CDPR's eye back then.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
