Xbox Live gets Amazon Instant today

After spending the better part of two months on the PlayStation Network, Amazon's instant video streaming service "Amazon Instant" has finally made the jump to Xbox Live.

The arrival of the service will allow users who are both Xbox Live Gold subscribers as well as Amazon Prime members free access to their library of over 17,000 videos. Non-Prime viewers will be able to browse and purchase their selection of "over 120,000 movies and TV episodes."

Their library also recently got a quality boost after Amazon reached a deal with Paramount to host their videos on the service last week. Amazon is also boasting some Kinect functionality with the ability to control videos with voice and gestures.

Doesn't the xbox already have about five different video streaming services now? Seems to me Microsoft are shooting themselves in the foot abit when they provide one themselves.

There are plenty of games out on the Xbox all the time, I mean unless you are only interested in the super mainstream stuff at witch point I'm sorry you will just have to cry in a corner until the next Halo/Cod/Bf/Gow game comes out in the fall like they do every year. Personally I play other games too so Im fine.

Yeah, the 360 literally has no games coming out for it. LITERALLY.

May say bad things about streaming stuff with the 360, but I was able to cut my cable TV off and save $110+ a month. Between Netflix streaming, Amazon Prime, and a TV antenna...

Just what the 360 needed, more shit that has nothing to do with video games!

let me guess Gold Members still have to pay separately for this too. Screw you Microsoft for turning Xbox into anything but a gaming system.

So, is the streaming free to ALL Gold members, or only Gold members who ALSO have Amazon Prime? Because seriously, F*ck Amazon Prime.
