Microsoft's Children's Miracle Network Games Bundle is the first package to be launched as part of the company's Family Games initiative. The bundle, which is priced at a value price point of less than $30 includes three Xbox 360 games; Viva Pinata Party Animals, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Shrek The Third. Microsoft will donate 100 percent of its net proceeds from sales of the Family Game Pack to support Children's Miracle Network hospitals, a network of 170 children's hospitals across the United States that treat 17 million sick and injured children every year. Ahead of Activision's financial results next week, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has commended short-term revenue prospects, but commented that emerging competition for some of [Activision's] core franchises, including Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk, may prove damaging for the company's long-term growth. Hickey stated for the short-term company prospects, We expect key fiscal Q208 and 2H08 game sales will come from Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, Transformers, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty 4 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The Company's fiscal '08 game pipeline is exceedingly strong, and will likely generate record fiscal '08 operating performance.

Originally announced back in 2005 as Shrek 3, the now renamed Shrek the Third is a totally new quest with a plot running parallel to that of the movie.
As you work through the comedy fairytale, you will get to play as Shrek, Donkey, Puss-in-Boots, Fiona, Arthur and Sleeping Beauty.

Activision's just announced the lineup of development studios that will be backing the game up as Shrek the Third makes its multi-platform launch in May - just enough time for you to see them movie version when it hits theatres this March. Here's the developers: Shaba Games is handling the console release (Xbox 360, PS2, Wii). Vicarious Visions is handling the DS and GBA releases. Amaze Entertainment is handling the PSP release. Beenox is handling the PC release. The game will release on almost any platform except for the Playstation 3. Why? I have no idea...

Shrek the Third, a new sequel to the Shrek series, has been announced by Activision to tie in with the release of the latest film starring the fat green ogre.
Set for a May 2007 release, we've grabbed a teaser trailer of the Xbox 360 and PS2 game to give you an idea of how it will work - click the movies tab above to see it.
From the looks of things, Shrek the Third will be a straight re-run of Shrek 2's character-swapping team action, with different heroes able to
