Right about now the rest of the internet is tripping over itself to crank out the “definitive” end-of-year list. Well, they can stop. We already did it. Over the next few pages our unquestioned expertise will identify the coolest, most important games of 2009 with zero room for error. Yeah, it’s that big of a deal. The Topics:

Top 7… oddest Japanese videogame heroes – does it count as racist if they’re making fun of themselves?

Modern Warfare 2 hands-on – Tyler and Lizzie played it for hours. Want to hear about it?

Ballad of Gay Tony hands-on – four editors discuss the ups and downs of GTA returning to San Andreas-levels of silliness.

And more!

The Top 7… Evil Corporations – all those lovely companies that have taken so much from us while giving so little.

Nintendo: Banned in the USA - Nudity, Nazis and the podcast will contain some EXCLUSIVE Child Abuse!

300 Blu-rays

Comic-Con

and much more!

Much like the Oscars tend to ignore movies released between January and September, end-of-year game awards usually forget the top-notch software released in the first six months. It’s true that the holiday shopping season is stacked with surefire hits, but let’s not forget the games that kept boredom at bay when 2009 was still the New Year.

What they promised

Prior to the game’s release, Jun Takeuchi, the producer behind Resi 5, promised heat and lighting effects that would genuinely have an impact on gameplay, in turn, distinguishing it from the illustrious fourth game. He hinted when Chris stepped out into sun-kissed areas from dark buildings the screen would blur, as his eyes adjusted to the change in light. Capcom
