What do Sammy Davis Jr., Dom DeLuise, Sally Field and that guy from The Man with the Golden Gun have in common? They’ve all, in one movie or another, proved that a useless co-pilot is still ten times better company than the best GPS.
What’s one thing all good poker players have in common? They don’t play a lot of hands. If you wanna win the big bucks, you’ve got to minimize risks and play only with the odds in your favor. Okay… now forget about that entirely. Texas Cheat ‘Em laughs at your “odds” and is going above and beyond to make sure even the tightest player holds on to that 7-2 offsuit.
There’s been a bit of buzz about Metropolis Software’s latest project in development, They. The first-person shooter places you in the heart of London in the near future and pits you against an army of invading robots. They’s canned premise sounds painfully generic at first, but the title has some interesting twists in store for those looking for a good reason to pick up a gun and fight.
Right off the bat, They breaks
It’s absolutely inevitable that Midway and Surreal’s This is Vegas will be compared to the vistas of Rockstar’s GTA IV. And why wouldn’t it? GTA pioneered the sandbox format and will probably revolutionise it once again when the game arrives. Everything that has come since then and dabbles in the mechanics of open-world, sandbox-styled gameplay is likened to GTA. Unfairly or not. This is Vegas, however, is the complete
By now you’ve read about thenvisioned by This is Vegas’ developers: open world on the bottom, Vegas style in the middle, and partying at the top. At Midway’s Gamers Day, we got a full serving of partying with a dash of Vegas style, but no open world play (ie, driving and shooting) was forthcoming. Our demo began with a look at the party scene, which takes place in a dance club environment filled with interlinking mini-games.

With the C2E2 pop culture convention making its second annual appearance in Chicago this past weekend – and Marvel owning the largest booth space on the show floor – Sega seized the opportunity to give attendees their first shot at Thor: God of Thunder, the tie-in to the forthcoming big-budget film. Sega's recent track record with Marvel licenses isn't exactly pristine (Iron Man and Iron Man 2, anyone?), but as with the film itself, we're certainly willing to give Thor a fair shot before drawing any serious conclusions. But we’ve got to be honest: Based on what we played, it's tough to stay optimistic about this action-oriented adaptation...
Chances are pretty good that you didn't play the original Thrillville last year... but a whole bunch of kids sure did. So many went for the ride, in fact, that the amusement park simulator is getting a sequel this October. Thrillville: Off the Rails embraces its youth appeal by pushing everything to be bigger, wilder, sillier, friendlier and, of course, barfier.
As theme park tycoon Mortimer's trusted niece or nephew, you still hold the dream job of building, designing and test riding every
Tiberium. In the Command & Conquer Tiberium universe its both a boon to mankind and an immediate threat to its very existence. Although the mysterious alien crystal helped advance technology and can provide enough energy to fuel an empire, it also infects everything it touches and threatens to engulf the entire planet in a layer of sickly green shards. But its difficult to really appreciate the irony of humanitys dependence on the very thing that could destroy it when youre poking a tiny
Forget global warming - the greatest threat to planet Earth and the survival of mankind is a green radioactive extraterrestrial crystal that is spreading like a cancer across the entire surface of the globe. Or maybe Deal or No Deal.
“Tiberium is the catalyst for everything, it’s our One Ring, our Matrix, our Force, and that’s why it’s the name,” says executive producer Christopher Plummer.
For many seasons, Tiger Woods PGA Tour has relied on an arcade-like feel that gave any player with functional thumbs a -15 handicap. Good news though - from what we saw at Electronic Arts' Summer Showcase, Tiger has shed his quirky strokes and come out swinging the hammer with a more simulation-based method of play. The control scheme has been simplified, taking what worked in the past and applying more realistic effects to make the whole experience come alive.
In 07, the entire swing runs off
