  •  Hold on: Another attempt to uncover the mysteries of Atlantis? And we thought Indy put that riddle to bed years ago. No, there’s very little mystery with this one – it’s a Command & Conquer-baiting RTS title with shades of Fracture thrown in for good measure.

  • Not only do I have nothing but good things to say about The Behemoth’s games so far, I can as go as far to say that if you don’t like Alien Hominid or Castle Crashers, I probably wouldn’t like you. Gamers my age have always looked forward to the day when we’d be able to play living cartoons, but never in my wildest dreams did I think they’d be as charming, fun and adorably violent as those aforementioned titles.

  • Megapublisher Electronic Arts held its GDC 2009 event last week filled with plenty of Battlefield goodness. With two Battlefield titles coming up, not only were we given a first look at their new sequel Battlefield: Bad Company 2, we were also given a little hands-on demo of developer DICE’s upcoming title Battlefield 1943, a strictly multiplayer downloadable FPS based on World War II.

  • Let's not beat around the bush here: Battlefield 3 looks freaking amazing. At their GDC preview event, the folks at DICE showed off a PC version of the title and did their best to blow the collective minds of everyone present. We can't really say to what extent they succeeded, but we will say this: They certainly brought their A game...

  • First the good news... Woo hoo, the first trailer of DICE's brand new Battlefield title has finally emerged from cover confirming that one fo the best multiplayer experiences is indeed getting a full sequel in 2011. The bad news? There's barely anything else of interest in this sneak-peek trailer. Still interested? Then click the image above to see it now.

  • Here's the thing: Battlefield 3 is exactly what you're expecting it to be. It's more Battlefield. And you know what? That's just fine.

Opening in a large garden area, our demo made it immediately clear that developer DICE knows what works in its  particular style of multiplayer shooter. A Rush match, it was our team's goal to reach and destroy various points on the map while the other team (obviously) defends it. In this case, we were battling over a couple of points near the edge of an urban park in the middle of a beautiful yet abandoned city landscape, now damaged by the obvious signs of war. Trees toppled, fountains that formerly trickled clear water are now little more than damp holes in the ground. It's a beautiful disaster of a landscape, lovingly crafted and ready for battle...

We just got back from a little trip to Dolby Laboratories for a quick hands-on session with EA's upcoming 2 ton gorilla, Battlefield 3. The demo showed off "Operation Guillotine" and put us in control of U.S. Marine Sgt. Blackburn as we pursued members of the People's Liberation and Resistance (PLR) movement through the outskirts of Tehran. Check out our impressions after the jump...

  • One thing is clear, Battlefield 3 wants Modern Warfare’s crown, bad. Their latest trailer and ad push is entitled “Above and Beyond the Call”, and their free Battlelog service is clearly a direct competitor to MW3’s paid Elite service. With the game only a few weeks away, we attended a full day event and played the campaign, the co-op and, of course, the multiplayer.

For those of you already tired of base jumping off of Damavand Peak, fret not, more Battlefield 3 multiplayer maps are on the way courtesy of the upcoming Back to Karkand DLC. We just got back from a multiplayer session exhibiting the maps, and seeing these classics all dressed up in the Frostbite 2 engine will bring a tear of joy to any BF fan’s eye.

Battlefield 3's next new multiplayer map isn't available until June, but we've got hands-on impressions now. How are Tom Cruise and Scrooge McDuck involved? Keep reading...
