It's been nearly a year since talk of a sequel to Monolith's FPS F.E.A.R., but today it's been reaffirmed that a follow-up to the horror-shooter is planned. In a press release from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announcing that Monolith CEO Samantha Ryan has also now assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Development & Production at WBIE, it's mentioned that the company's "current production slate" includes "the sequel to F.E.A.R." Developer Monolith is owned by Warner

It's been almost a week since Canadian developer Silicon Knights reported significant layoffs at its Ontario-based studio, and now it appears WB Games will soon be following suit in Seattle. Over the weekend, the publisher confirmed it is cutting staff across its three owned studios, which include Surreal Software (The Suffering), Monolith Productions (F.E.A.R, Gotham City Imposters), and Snowblind Studios (Lord of the Rings: War in the North)...

F1 2011 is heading to 'new handhelds' next year, according to Codemasters. That can only mean one thing - 3D racing awesomeness in the palm of your hand on 3DS and HD racing on PSP2. Colour us excited. There's more good news too, as there are yet more F1 games on the way from the racing studio...

Well, well, well. After enjoying a single week on top of the UK charts, Halo Reach has been displaced by Codemasters' F1 2010. That's not even with a full week of F1 sales as the game only went on sale on Friday. This is across all formats, so the racer has undoubtedly benefited from having PS3 and Xbox 360 as bases for sale as opposed to Halo's Xbox-only userbase. But it's still an amazing showing for a title that a lot of people class as 'niche'.

Tomorrow is the day of the 29th annual Golden Joystick Awards - and GamesRadar's going to be there. But don't think we'll be there solely for the free food, champagne and um... oh yes, the most important videogame awards in the business (they are voted for by you, after all). No - I'm there to set a new Guinness World Record on F1 2011.

Peter Molyneux says a lot of things. The head of Lionhead Studios is most famous for his work on the Fable series. But he’s also infamous for making hyperbolic statements, earning him a reputation as an exaggerator, which he’s been trying to live down since the release of the first Fable.

Speaking at the Eurogamer Expo today, Molyneux revealed what he believes is the worst thing he’s ever said in a retrospective on the Fable series…

Peter Molyneux will soon have another trophy to hang in his study, studio, sanctuary achievement room or wherever elseguys like Peter Molyneux display notable industry awards. As if his lifetime achievement nod at next week's Game Developers Conference wasn't enough of an ego-boost, the Lionhead Studios head has also been pegged to receive the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' (BAFTA) 2011 Academy Fellowship title during the association's GAME British Academy Video Game Awards in March.

Nov 13, 2007 Software... update. Two extremely dull words that, when combined, become even duller. So why is the entire gaming community currently abuzz about the next iteration of the Xbox 360 dashboard? When did mandatory software upgrades become so dramatic and controversial? Easy - when Microsoft announced that this update had something to do with Halo. Starting December 2, you'll be able to download some of the original Xbox's classic titles and play them on your 360. No disc, no ugly

Aug 16, 2007 In a recent chat with us, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux explained his company's new development mantra for the massive Xbox 360 Fable sequel: LESS IS MORE. At the moment the Fable 2 design director is telling his team to focus less on features and more on polishing. "Lionhead games need less random features, but to refine and hone the core features," he said. "Combat is good example of this; we could have thrown in 100's of different spells, moves and effects but I now realize

Peter Molyneux has revealed the final "big secret" in Fable 2; a drop-in, drop-out co-op mode where your friend can visit your Fable world and earn gold. You can also tax your Xbox Live mate for the amount of cash he or she earns, and keep a portion of it for yourself, revealed the Lionhead boss. Another way to earn money in Fable 2 will be in a roulette style game called Keystone, which will be made available on Xbox Live Arcade "a few weeks"
