As you can see from these photos, many of the stands are still under construction - including those for PlayStation 3 and Wii, both of which will be playable on the show floor. The Sony and Nintendo areas sit side-by-side in the LA Convention Centre's massive West Hall and are the focal points of

Wednesday 17 May 2006 So, that was E3 2006. The most manic week of the gaming calendar has hurtled by once again in a tornado of news and a frenzy of game playing. Now, as relative calm returns and the chaos slowly seeps away, we look back on the big games, the big announcements, the highlights and the disappointments. Much of the week's hottest news happened before the doors had opened on E3, with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all making some big announcements at their pre-show

It used to be that games and exercise went together like sex and tax preparation, but now the workout genre has grown to become one of the largest and most lucrative genres in the industry. In light of this sweat-sweat revolution, The Exergame Network (TEN) has seen fit to introduce its own health-based rating system, much to the dismissive wanking motions of gamers without kids everywhere...

The gang recovers from their trip to wine country by celebrating 10 years of PS2, Fallout: New Vegas, Vanquish, EA's MMA and Super Meat Boy.

Oh yeah, we've also got something Halo: Reach related to give away, but you won't find out what or how until you listen...

In the immortal words of M. Bison, "YES!". The cult classic  Earth Defense Force 2017 is getting a sequel, “Insect Armageddon”, and this time it’ll be showing up on PS3 as well. Expect tons of guns, tons of bugs and the closest thing you'll get to pretending you're playing a Starship Troopers video game. Unless you're playing, you know, the Starship Troopers video game.

Having already professed my undying love for Earth Defense Force, I bring more good tidings for EDF fans, a teaser trailer has been released! Filled mostly with enormous spiders, destruction and screaming, the trailer takes place in New Detroit, which we can assume is Insect Armageddon's setting. Given the current state of Detroit, it's unclear as to whether or not this alien bug invasion will be an improvement for the city.

That “10 out of 10” quote on all those EDF ads surrounding this article may be a bit out of context, but I’ll happily stand by it… even though we actually gave it an 8. What kept it from greatness, you ask?! Well, for one, it succeeds mostly because doesn’t set out to do that much. More importantly, while the game is fundamentally rock solid, there’s not a whole lot to do beyond the repetitious insecticide...

The first early-doors details of Earth No More - a PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game being jointly developed by new studio Recoil Games and Duke Nukem creator, 3D Realms - have appeared on the internet, revealing some plot and gameplay info. Earth No More's story revolves around the appearance of a mysterious spore, which has a destructive impact on the environment and causes plants and animals to mutate. Exactly how players will combat this troublesome germ isn't entirely clear, although building a

3D Realms has revealed a little more on Earth No More, the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game in development at Recoil Games that we had first details on yesterday. New information comes via quotes lifted from an article in Game Informer magazine. The words have been plastered onto 3DR's website. The details in the quotes are teasing, but they provide some insight into the game's direction and influences and additionally explain that many of the weapons in the shooter are being designed with
