  • Friday 14 July 2006 Both Sony and Electronic Arts passed on the opportunity to turn Brit horror flick 28 Days Later into a game, according to the film's producer Andrew Macdonald. Macdonald was speaking at the Develop Conference in Brighton this week about the crossover between games and films when he revealed there was little interest in the 28 Days Later licence. Many independent developers were tempted by the idea but would need funding to produce it. 28 Days Later was directed by Danny
  • Friday 14 July 2006 Here's the last in our exclusive Test Drive Unlimited videos, this time the centre of attention is the incredible Koenigsegg CC85 which is one of the fastest production vehicles available. Created by a Swedish manufacturer it has constantly broken speed records and has few equals when it comes to speed in a straight line. Fortunately with over 10,000 miles of the open Hawaiian roads in Atari's incredible looking online racer, you should be able to find a decent enough

  • Friday 14 July 2006 Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington has been linked with the role of Master Chief for the Halo film, which is currently in production in New Zealand. The rumour was first spotted on Australian film site Dark Horizons but there seems to be little information to back up the claim. The Halo film is being produced by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson and the rumours may have started after Denzel apparently had a meeting with the cuddly New Zealander earlier
  • We're not shy about proclaiming Mass Effect as one of the most promising games to come out of E3. Busy as they were at the show, some of our staff members went back and sat through the demo presentation twice to drink it all in. Now you can check it out yourself, as Bioware has made a narrated version of the same demo available. We've popped it into our burgeoning video collection - click on the movies tab above and check it out. Again, since it's narrated, we don't need to tell you what to
  • Ubisoft delivered a smattering of new screens from Rainbow Six Vegas today. These screens appear to have been taken from the E3 demo that was only shown behind closed doors at the Ubisoft booth. These new shots rehash some stuff you've probably already seen, but they still demand attention by brilliantly showing off the crazy lighting effects that permeate every pore of Rainbow Six Vegas. Not only does the city of Vegas look unbelievably hot with the world famous strip lit up in microscopic
  • Make the most of your vampirism by taking over the notorious Vile Lair, once home to Greywyn Blenwyth - the infamous vampire leader of the Crimson Scars. The doors to the Vile Lair will open Thursday, adding-on a new homestead to the role-playing marathon, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Your new refuge will be a multilevel underwater sanctuary, where you can satisfy your thirst for blood in its "cattle pen", or cure your dark gift at the Shrine of Sithis. Alchemists and assassins will delight at
  • Thursday 13 July 2006 Mark Rein, vice president of Unreal developer Epic Games, hit out at episodic gaming yesterday, claiming that it was "a broken business". Episodic gaming is a new way of game distribution that allows publishers to release a game in chapters over a number of months. It's a process that is being used by Half-life developer Valve with its Half-Life 2 episodes and one that is attractive to many game publishers who feel they could use online services such as the Xbox Live

Pumping out a kickin' rock soundtrack, this short depicts some seriously high-gloss automobiles that have us wondering where these heavenly hotrods got their mirror-smooth paint jobs. We don't want to spoil the ending by telling you who becomes the ruler of the reckless racers, so just click the movies tab above and enjoy the show yourself. Test Drive Unlimited is slated for release
