Just in case you missed the explosion of Halo 3 reviews over the weekend, Bungie's shooter is doing pretty well at review stage around the world. We say pretty well, but with the game scoring an average of 9.7 on stat crunching website Metacritic, we actually mean bloodily awesomely. You can almost hear the champagne corks popping at Bungie HQ.
It wasn't long ago that 2K's Bioshock rocked the world of review scores, coming out with nothing lower than high 9s if not straight

BioShock caught most everyone by surprise. Who would have guessed that a first person shooter could also work as a dark and psychologically complex morality play? Who knew a failed underwater utopia would end up everyone's favorite setting since Halo's ring? Who knew a game about gene splicing, homicidal diving suits and zombie children was destined for not only critical, but commercial success?
One man probably did. Ken Levine, Creative Director and President of 2K Boston, is

Better late than never - Epic's Cliff Bleszinski has reviewed (kind of) the mighty BioShock on his blog, saying some very nice things about it. He even calls it his game of the year, but that's got nothing to do with the fact that it uses Epic's technology or because he's friends with some of the staffers, he points out.
Still there are some points he doesn't like, or can't get his head around. "I don't understand how this brainstorming session went down," he wrote. "Like, I get
In an interview in UK videogame trade paper MCV, a Midway representative has made the interesting claim that BlackSite (its forthcoming sci-fi FPS) will actually benefit from going up against Halo 3.
"BlackSite will absolutely benefit from the popularity of Halo, and stands a fair chance of hitting number one," Aidan Minter, European brand manager for the company told MCV.
And while we're not going to say he's wrong per se, it does seem like a fairly bold claim, don't you think? With a TV ad

Following its extremely positive reception, BioShock is being eyed as a major new franchise by 2K Games parent Take-Two - which is already talking sequels.
The publisher's recently spoke of the possibility of hitting "roughly" a new BioShock release every two years.
"I would say, probably, roughly an every-two-year schedule would be optimal. And if you look historically, that has been largely the case with GTA, and I'd expect we'd apply roughly the same strategy to BioShock

The crazy rolling world of Beautiful Katamari is heading to PS3 and Wii, it appears.
Namco Bandai's website now lists both platforms as being on the Beautiful Katamari roll call, although neither version has a release date - they're both down as "TBD."
And in related news, the site's also listing Xbox 360 RPG Eternal Sonata as destined for PS3 now too. Again, a release date for the PS3 version is down as "TBD."

Early gameplay footage andeight new shots of EAs plot-driven shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company, which is due to invade PS3 and 360 in 2008, have come out of hiding.
Introducing Sweetwater, Haggard and Sergeant Redford, the other three members that make up the appropriately titled, B Squad, the trailer starts off calm enough before launching into an all out assault on your senses.
Already looking impressive and featuring a straight outta Hollywood plot, revolving around the

The latest shots of Burnout Paradise, the fifth title in the racer-come-smash-em-up series due to be released for 360 and PS3 later this year, have just skidded onto our screens, and they look incredible.
Our hands-on earlier this year, proved to us that the crashes will be the cause of more than a few heart-stopping moments, and you can imagine the carnage that would ensue after these turbo-charged gas-guzzlers smash into a wall at over 100mph.

Is nothing safe anymore? Doesn't look like it. People digging around the game's innards have stumbled upon what they're claiming are details of downloadable content for the awesome BioShock.
The first thing you've got to remember is that there's no option to download extra content in the Bioshock menu. The second thing you've got to remember is that it can be added via the wonder of Xbox Live. Didn't it happen with one of the Doom games back on

It's what we've always wanted out of life - grow a 'stache, embark on epic adventures, bag yourself a lady friend and er... raze entire villages to the ground. After Pete Molyneux shocked the gaming world by revealing a pet dog, he described the potential of a next gen, living, breathing Albion. We bought the dream,
