  • Ubisoft has posted some lush artwork on its twitter account while dropping vague hints about a “secret” project involving the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The picture shows off an assassin chilling out in front of the Great Pyramids. Judging from the scene – and the whole “sporting a severed head in one hand and what looks a hell of a lot like a larger version of the hidden blade all bloodied in the other” vibe – he appears to have just finished a job...

  • Ubisoft has released details on the games it'll be showing at its E3 presentation this year. With 2011 marking the company's 25th anniversary (which of course you knew, as it's marked on all major calendars) the company touts the presentation as one of its biggest yet. Updates to popular series include the third Call of Juarez, two-point-third Assassin's Creed and Rayman Origins – the latter of which, presumably, will feature the scene young fans have dreaded for years in which the loveable hero's missing limbs are at last explained...

  • Mystery solved! A few weeks back, the @UbiWorkshop twitter account teased an image of an Egyptian assassin in what was obviously concept art for something. And as much as we liked the idea of some sort of Afro Samurai-meets-Assassin’s Creed-styled manga treatment, we didn’t really expect that was it. Today, another piece of art has emerged and the plan and purpose for these “concepts” has been revealed. We were right – it’s not a comic...

  • The 2nd Annual Canadian Videogame Awards were held in Vancouver last night, celebrating the Great White North's considerable influence in gaming, and recognizing some of its most notable contributions.

Among the night's top winners were BioWare Edmonton's Mass Effect 2, which took home trophies in the Game of the Year, Best Console Game, Best Game Design and Best Writing...

  • New details have emerged regarding Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the latest instalment in the series. We've listed the key points over the page for easy ingestion - this follows the first teaser trailer and official site we pointed you towards yesterday.

  • Above: The Smuggler will be playable in the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer beta. You’ll need to level-up to 17 to unlock her

Ubisoft has just released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which highlights the Smuggler. Community developer Gabe Graziani describes the stealthy multiplayer character: “The Smuggler. A prowler of the ports, she hunts among the docks and has been known to venture into cities if the coin seems worthwhile. Using a hidden blade as her weapon of choice, her victims rarely even get the chance to admire the beauty obscured by her hood.”

  • Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear have had an unusual cross-promotional relationship for a while now, what with Altair's hooded robe and Leap of Faith showing up in Metal Gear Solid 4 and MGS: Peace Walker, respectively. So when a rumor that Raiden's robot exoskeleton from MGS4 would appear in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood turned out to be true, we weren't the least bit surprised. The news item even revealed how to get the costume, making it one of the few "secrets" we knew how to unlock before we'd even played the game.

Just in case you didn't already know about it, publisher Ubisoft released a trailer today that gives the curious a brief glimpse of the costume. It's elegant and all, but if Ubi's going to tease stuff that's already out, we figured we might as well go the extra mile and just show you what the publisher's trying to be coy about...

  • Today is funny. We went to our local doughnut shop and said to our main doughnut guy, “You know what, the world could use more hype for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. It’s only coming out in a week, don’t ‘cha know.” That’s when doughnut guy clued us in to this fine looking teaser trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Ascendance. And yes, it’s the best doughnut shop on Earth.

  • Assassin's Creed, it seems, happens as frequently as sunset these days. With AC: Brotherhood having just been released, only a year after its predecessor, Assassin's Creed II, and God knows how many spin-offs and cross-media titles appearing in between, it now seems that a full-blown AC III might well be confirmed for next year. Don't believe me? Well here's what Ubisoft has to say on the subject...

  • We’re still in the center of a game release maelstrom. The TDar crew battens down the hatches and endures by gabbing about the biggest games of the week. Also included: Transformers, Top 7s, farts, Robocop, rants about packaging and the ESRB, puns, shout outs, and as always, love...
