Microsoft Corp. said on Wednesday it will pipe advertisements into a slate of popular sports video games from Electronic Arts Inc. including its best-selling Madden football franchise. The deal, which also covers EA's NASCAR, Tiger Woods golf, NHL hockey and upcoming Skate skateboarding games, is a significant win for Microsoft as it tries to build an early lead over rivals such as Google Inc. in putting ads into video games. The deal is also the latest indication of increasingly cozy ties between Microsoft, the world's biggest software company and EA, the No. 1 independent video game publisher.
Microsoft has released two new game demos on Xbox live. 2K Sports' All-Pro Football 2K8 which is taking football to the next level with landmark gameplay innovations demo which is about 681 Mb big. The second demo released on live is Nascar 08 which is roughly about 589 Mb. The demos have been confirmed to be available in the US and Canada. No details as to when it will be available in the other regions.

This year's NASCAR game from EA Sports finds the series in a year of rebuilding, but that's just fine for the game since it's a good time to introduce some changes -- the sport it follows is also seeing a big shift in the 2008 season, and the platform slate for NASCAR 08 has also broadened since this will be the first next-gen entry for the series.
Formula One's most famous export of recent years, Juan Pablo Montoya, has managed to secure a position on the cover of Electronic Art's NASCAR 08, this despite coming close but still not landing in victory circle in his new outing. Also on the cover is NASCAR's new Car of Tomorrow, painted in Montoya's Havoline livery. The game is due out sometime later this year, Colombian flag not included.
