E3, the video-game industry's big trade show, is next week, and you'll be hearing a lot about all the new software coming between now and Christmas. But there's a bit of a lull until Aug. 12, when Madden NFL 09 unofficially marks the beginning of the fall game season. July is a good time to catch up on some of the games you may have missed. Here are the best of the year so far.

Mistwalker's Lost Odyssey sees some decent download content - the 'Seeker of the Deep' Dungeon Pack is out on Xbox Live this weekend for 400 Microsoft points (about three quid or around $6).

The pack was released in Japan last month, while we had to make do with the comparatively rubbish 'Triple Pack,' which had you pay for three items that let you replay game scenes and read obscene amounts of text. Whoopty-do.

The popular role-playing game Lost Odyssey has a new dungeon pack available for play. The Seeker of the Deep dungeon is available from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for 400 MS points. To access the dungeon, download the DLC pack. Then, once the Nautilus can fly, fly to the center of the gulf on the right of the inland sea on the north of the Tower of Mirrors (near Saman, the City of Merchants), and dive into the water. When the game displays either Examine or Enter at the bottom right corner of the screen, press the A button, and delve into the Seeker of the Deep! The dungeon is available May 23 for a cost of 400 MS Points. Download the pack and continue your odyssey! - Microsoft, Published May 19, 2008 NOTE: This DLC dungeon was formally exclusive to only Japan/Asian Territories. This dungeon package also adds 5 new achievements totalling 100 Gamerscore points. The new total for Lost Odyssey: 42 achievements with a total of 1100 points

The first lot of Western Lost Odyssey download content has turned up on Xbox Live Marketplace - but it's not much worth getting excited about. Check out the screens.

Xbox360 Fanboy writes: Finally, after numerous pieces of downloadable content have graced the Japanese Marketplace, Lost Odyssey fans in other Live regions will get in on the DLC fun. A new 200 Microsoft point Lost Odyssey DLC bonus pack will release on Friday, April 25th to North America (and, more than likely, to the European) XBLM and feature a new dream sequence and a few new items. The Shattered Bond will allow plays to experience a new dream, the Killer Machine ring will give extra protection against magic-powered weapons and the Memory Lamp will let players re-live previous dreams. The DLC may be a tad bit on the expensive side, but at least it's available outside of Japan. Right?

The first details have emerged on Lost Odyssey's downloadable content, which will be arriving in Japan on Thursday, April 10.

For 400 points (about three quid or $5), Japanese Xbox 360 owners can get a new dungeon, a single rare item and a new boss character to battle at the end. Plenty of reason to be excited then if you've extinguished the 100,000 hours of gameplay already in there.
