Left 4 Dead 2

So you've made one of the most visually, atmospherically, and tonally faithful depictions of a video game yet commited to film. But something's missing. Then you realise. It really needs a batshit-mental, shark-jumping last act that pisses all your hard work up the wall. Brilliant!

NECA picking up the rights to develop Valve figures and props was fantastic news for those of us who enjoy spending absurd amounts of money on action figures for our desk, but besides some random work-in-progress shots here and there, we haven't really seen any thing come of it. Today, however, that all changed, as the toy company has released a full, finished-looking figure of the Boomer from Left 4 Dead 2...

Valve's upcoming Cold Stream DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 aims to take the company's long history of community interaction to a new level – with a campaign, first begun by modders, being subsequently built and refined out in the community. Now that the DLC's nearing completion, it's only fitting that the community be involved in the testing process – so Valve has asked PC players to jump into the new maps and rack up as many completions as possible for stress-testing and bug-hunting. And the results were so successful, some of that DLC's being released ahead of time as a reward...

“Biofeedback control” and “in-house experimental psychology” are some fancy words for Valve to be throwing around. In older, plainer-spoken days, if anyone had got a bunch of people together in a room and shown them Valve's GDC presentation, we'd have called it for what it clearly is. And that's devil-magic and witch-doctory, plain and simple. Click through for video of the clearly supernatural shenanigans...

For two years now we’ve thrown health, sleep and sobriety to the wind in order to bring you GamesRadar’s 24 Hour Marathon! If you’ve missed out on the shenanigans thus far, the point of this video is to make you feel horrible about it. With the exception of StarCraft II, I sacrificed my hard drive to record everyone playing everything with me! Watch dozens of readers intentionally doing the stupidest shit imaginable in Halo 3, Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War 2, BioShock 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Blur, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Modern Warfare 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Uncharted 2. Of all the crap I've done here, this video is the thing I'm most proud of...

More Left 4 Dead 2 DLC is on its way, this time with considerable input from Valve's community. Yesterday, the studio admitted over its blog that it was late in updating its zombie-survival franchise, but that it was now ready to move forward with a fairly meaty DLC release, the contents of which will be refined by fans...

We’ve seen some stupidly cute zombies in the past (mainly killing the hell out of plants on our Apple-endorsed phones). But Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2 cuddly toys really take the undead cake…

Australia is well-known for its unforgiving censorship of violent games. The country's government-controlled rating system lacks an 18+ category for videogames, meaning that every game must fit the criteria of the legally-restricted MA15+ category. But those days may soon be over...

Above: Check out the teaser for The Sacrifice

Someone’s going to die. Valve has just released a teaser for The Sacrifice, a DLC pack for Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2. The DLC pack will introduce what Valve is calling ‘Sacrificial Gameplay,’ which will require players to decide who will end their life so the rest of the group can live.

The teaser is the most dark and somber cinematic released so far and foreshadows the unavoidable death of one of the four survivors. It’s pretty intense…

Above: Francis fans rejoice. Part 3 of The Sacrifice is packed with over 40 pages of free zombie lore

In case you missed it, Valve has released Part 3 of The Sacrifice. The free graphic novel is a prequel to the last DLC campaign, ‘The Passing,’ and follows the original four survivors as they head South. Each chapter also sheds some light on how Louis, Zoey, Francis, and Bill managed to survive the initial outbreak of zombies before they met up. In this issue, we find out more about our favorite L4D1 character who hates everything, Francis…
