Guilty Gear 2: Overture

If you like anime-style video games, or just utter craziness, you probably know and love the work of Arc System Works. Maybe youre a fan of the insane BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (Ready Ups Dan certainly is), perhaps even going so far as to enter our recent BlazBlue competition. Maybe instead youre a Guilty Gear fan, or perhaps youre looking forward to having anime girls beat the snot out of each other in the forthcoming release of Arcana Heart 3.

Japanese developer Arc System Works has confirmed to NowGamer that producer Daisuke Ishiwatari intends to developer a new Guilty Gear game for the PS3 and Xbox 360

505 Games has today announced the release of Guilty Gear 2: Overture exclusively for Xbox 360. The latest in the popular series launches on 4th September 2009 and will take fans in a bold new direction, borrowing elements from genres outside of the traditional one-on-one fighting action for which Guilty Gear has become famed.

Offering a full single-player campaign, four way multi-player over Xbox LIVE! or two player local multi-player, Guilty Gear 2: Overture will also feature fifty unique units designed by famed series artist Daisuke Ishiwatari. Many familiar characters return to the game, including Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske and the mysterious That Man, all of whom have their signature special attacks recreated for the first time in glorious 3D.

The special Xbox 360 version of the most popular games magazine in Japan has just hit store shelves and its always interesting to look at the review scores. In the latest issue, Xbox 360 cracker Lost Odyssey was reviewed for the first time, and rewarded with 9/8/8/8 which brings its total to 33/40 which equals 8.25/10.
