Gears of War 2 was one of the first titles to include a one-time use code for customers who purchased new copies of the game - now a common part of the games industry - but Epic has revealed this initiative wasn't as successful as the developer wanted.
XMNR: Epic Games' Rod Fergusson hopped on a video chat to talk with fans of the Gears of War series about what their plans are for unlocks in the Gears finales and revealed new unlock promotions for golden weapons and upcoming plans for XP events for Gears of War 2.
SystemLink: Tomorrow executive producer of Gears of War 3, Rod Fergusson will be committing to a live stream at precisely 5:30 EST. Besides showing off the title, Mr. Fergusson touts that he will unveil something very, very special for the players who managed to unlock the Veteran Gear achievement in Gears of War 2.

Epic Games have just become more Epic again bringing another 20x XP weekend.
With Gears of War 3 coming out this September, the time to massively play Gears of War 2 with other people is dwindling. So in order to spark a community play session, Epic Games have announced a pretty compelling 21 times XP from now until 9 a.m. Eastern on July 5
A new officially licensed board game based on the Gears of War videogame franchise is on its way to retail stores throughout Europe. Gears of War: The Board Game, designed by Corey Konieczka, is based on the first and second instalments of the phenomenally successful third-person shooter by Epic Games.
Rod Fergusson announced the plans for Gears of War 2 to celebrate the 4th of July.
