We’re long time comic nerds, so we’ve seen our fair share of conventions. We’ve walked through a sea of not so fresh dorks many times at these flea markets for nerds and loved every minute of it. But as the years move forward, more and more games and gaming related junk to clutter our homes have been invading the formerly comic exclusive events. The encouraging trend continued as we descended on the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco, CA to check out WonderCon last weekend.
Games are worse than a daily diet of 40 cigarettes, 14 deep fried Mars Bars and downing two bottles of quadruple distilled Russian vodka. Well, that’s if this obnoxiously 90’s healthy gaming poster is to be believed. So to save us all from becoming 40 stone blobs who need our fat asses fork-lifted out of bed, we’ve come up with five totally practical ways to exercise while we game.
How many gamers long for a remake of Final Fantasy VII? Or An HD remake of Sonic 2? On the surface, it doesn't look like rehashing your old games would make business sense as everyone's already bought them once. Why buy them again, right? Wrong! iPad is finally upon us. And while PC-illiterate millionaires, Apple fanboys and Steve Jobs have plenty of reason to rejoice, for gamers, the question still remains: "Should we care about this?"

If Dante's Inferno has taught us anything, it's that basing a game on a book is one way to get a few eyes on the original text. While mainstream rappers express their affection for video games from time to time, the underground "nerdcore" hip-hop movement takes the connection to a whole other level. There are entire songs and albums dedicated to a love of gaming, and many of these artists plug references into their most popular tracks.

Like the breaking of a new dawn, Cabela's Hunting sims arrive with an almost soothing regularity. As other franchises whither and die, Cabela punts out another hunting game every year, sometimes twice.
The hunting company's videogame franchise output totals some 39 games in a 12 year period on multiple platforms, yet their highest all time score on MetaCritic is just 68 (for Dangerous Hunts 2009).
Their frequency would suggest that somewhere there is a market for these sims. Somewhere in the backwoods. But we've never met anyone who claims to have bought one. Which begs the question - who the f*** is?

So prepare to look at the Man With No Name and Tony Montana in a new light, as we blend famous film characters with gaming's finest heroes.
