The classic shooter Doom is now once again available to gamers on Xbox LIVE as an arcade title. And there was much rejoicing.

Ladies and gentlemen, we stand together on a momentous day. Truly, it is one that will go down as a landmark in the history of human freedom and man's progressive attitude towards art, his fellow man, and in fact pretty much every aspect of everything relating to human existence ever. Because today, I am delighted to be able to report, is the day that Doom and Doom II have finally been cleared for general release by the German ratings board.
Share in this victory people, for in a way, we have all taken our first step towards a new, more enlightened state of being this day.
Doom fans probably still have sour memories over the 2005 film adaptation of the classic FPS. After netting a lot of criticism and grossing less money than the movie cost to produce, it did nothing but add to the list of failed video game-based movies.
Despite all that, Universal has decided to take another stab at recreating the lore and intensity of Doom on the big screen...
CVG: Doom creator John Romero has hinted that he could one day create a new game with ex-colleague John Carmack - which would be fresh and awesome.

Following the weekend 50% off discount deal from Galaga Legions, Amazon.com is now offering several more Xbox LIVE Arcade games at a lower price than the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Doom is currently listed for $2.97 (41% less than on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace), and Pac-Man Championship Edition is currently listed for $4.97 (50% less than the Xbox LIVE Marketplace). Those are two great Xbox LIVE Arcade games. The previous Galaga Legions deal was only available for a couple of days, so move on these soon. They may not be available for that price for long!
