Command and Conquer PlayStation fans (must be some out there) will be disappointed to know that there was never any possibility of the latest game in the franchise ending up on PS3. Speaking to CVG, C&C producer Jim Vessella said that the PS3 was not in consideration.

The Xbox 360 version of Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath will not be blessed with the excellent Global Conquest mode, according to the game's producer. Speaking with CVG, Jim Vessella said, When we were focus testing that feature for the Xbox version, we found that it wasn't getting as good a response as it had on PC. We found that it was a bit more niche type of gameplay, the turn-based gameplay wasn't gelling as much with the 360 fan base. Nor were the controls working as well as the precision with the mouse on that particular mode. So Global Conquest actually won't be on the 360 version which is why we added in Kane's Challenge mode which is more catering to 360 players.

EA may incorporate voice command mechanics into its future console RTS games, if Ubisoft's EndWar proves a success. Speaking to VideoGamer.com Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath associate producer Jim Vessella said that all console RTS developers are working together and trying to borrow ideas from each other. He continued: I am very excited to see how well that voice command works for the RTS genre. I would actually say that we'll probably see how they do and try and investigate if utilising the voice command is also a good advantage for our future games too. We're all learning here which is the cool thing about the time that we're in. All the developers for console RTS are working together and trying to borrow ideas from each other.

Videogamer writes: The idea is to ensure gamers can play through the campaign and not be frustrated. Speaking to VideoGamer.com Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath associate producer Jim Vessella has revealed that they reduced the difficulty level of the Xbox 360 game in order to make it more fun for console gamers. ...we've also tried to tune our difficulty so it's not so hard for console players, explained Vessella. 'We still have different difficulty modes in the game, like easy, medium and hard for people who want to give themselves a big challenge, but we really wanted to make that average difficulty for the campaign a bit lower down so we can really get players to go through the story, play Command & Conquer and not be frustrated as they try and play the game.'

Videogamer writes: A has reassured PS3 owners that they should not be concerned by the putting on hold of the PS3 version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 and the lack of a PS3 version of Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, and reiterated its commitment to the platform going forward. In an interview with VideoGamer.com, Kane's Wrath associate producer Jim Vessella said that EALA (the division of EA which is responsible for its RTS games, including Command & Conquer and Battle for Middle Earth) was still very interested in the PS3 and big fans of Sony's console. When asked why there was no PS3 version of Kane's Wrath, Vessella replied: The PS3, it would just be extra development time we didn't really have right now, so we could focus on the 360. And also specifically with Kane's Wrath, because we're building off of the foundation of Tiberium Wars it was just a natural transition to continue with the 360 exclusive development.
