Codemasters, the developer and publisher of acclaimed videogames including Colin McRae: DiRT and Race Driver: GRID, was honoured at the 2009 Develop Industry Excellence Awards winning the coveted Grand Prix Award. The ceremony was held last night in Brighton, UK, as part of the Develop Conference 2009.

With week one sales out the door, Codemasters is proud to announce that DiRT, the company's critically acclaimed new racing title, has exceeded expectations across the board. If DiRT's early review score of 9/10 from Official Xbox Magazine (U.S.) wasn't any indication, Codemasters is now reporting that week one sales of the game have surpassed 500K copies globally, and the playable demos for the Xbox 360 video game entertainment system from Microsoft and the PC have been downloaded over 500K times worldwide.

Issue 7 of 360Zine, the free Xbox 360 magazine, is available for download and has an in-depth feature on the Halo 3 beta and what they, and a selection of Halo 3 fans, think of the new game so far. Without the rush of getting a review on a website, they've had the time to play the beta thoroughly and find out exactly how balanced the new weapons and maps are. The demo for Colin McRae: Dirt is now available for both PC and X360. See alternative sources for download mirrors of the PC version (833 MB). Xbox Live members can download the 769 MB sized demo from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Colin McRae: Dirt looks amazing and Codemasters is only too happy to show it off. This new trailer is just a teaser of what the game will look like and, of course, it's stunning. Good as it may look, however, it doesn't look like real-time graphics to us, which is a shame because the actual game looks so good that in-game footage would easily have been impressive enough.
