X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse review

  • The cooperative/online action is lots of fun
  • Fanboys will love the story, characters, and inside shout outs
  • The auto-upgrade feature makes cooperative and online play much friendlier
  • Accessorizing is a forced attempt at adding depth
  • The graphics are quite dated
  • The load times are, almost inexcusably, bad
If you can tolerate the game's dated graphics and irritating load times, there's a lot of fun to be had with X-Men Legends II. Playing it solo is a decent time, but playing it cooperatively is where things really shine. Even if you're not familiar with the X-Men, this is a good choice if you're looking to smash things with up to three of your pals. Comic fanboys just get the added bonus of swooning when obscure characters make a cameo.
