World of Warcraft fans, check your Battle.net accounts. Blizzard has just announced that invitations to the closed beta program for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are being issued today via Battle.net. “Our focus with Cataclysm has been to build on the knowledge we’ve gained through the previous expansions to deliver the best, most compelling World of Warcraft content for our players to date. Gathering focused feedback during the beta teste will go a long way in helping us reach that goal when we launch Cataclysm later this year,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard Entertainment.

Blah, blah, blah. We’re just waiting for our chance to level-up some Goblins, one of the new playable races to be introduced in the upcoming expansion. Weaker players who like reading all the text in every quest log can look forward to rolling a fresh Worgen for the Alliance, because as Goblins, we’re going to need someone to kill.
