World of Nintendo

16) Animal Crossing movie

Want to watch the Animal Crossing anime movie but don’t speak Japanese? Seeing as there’s little chance of it ever appearing officially in English (it’s not exactly Studio Ghibli quality) some dedicated enthusiasts have completed an unofficial fansub version. It’s in several parts on YouTube - at least until Nintendo’s lawyers get wind of it.

17) SNESphone

Those iPhones might be great for storing Dire Straits albums, showing off in wine bars and talking to your stockbroker, but do they have any decent games on them? Well, yes - somebody has developed a SNES emulator for them. How annoying. Still, the video demo on YouTube seems to suggest there’s still a little work to be done before it will recognise the on-screen D-pad and buttons being pressed at the same time.

18) DS pouches

These handmade DS pouches are easily the nicest console storage devices we’ve seen. Unsurprisingly, they sold out within hours of being discovered on the internet, and unless the makers can rope in some help from teams of expert stitchers, they’ll remain in short supply. They’re expensive, since they’re shipped from Australia. But aren’t they lovely?
