The Wonderful 101 assembles in new trailer

The secret U.N. combat group known as the Wonderful 100 (that's Wonderful 101 with you on board, dear player) has a simple directive: unite with other agents for colorful displays of shapeshifting heroism. A city seemingly filled with innocent schoolchildren that has come under attack by gigantic aliens gives plenty of opportunities for the W-100 to keep the peace.

This new trailer from today's Nintendo Mini-Direct shows a man go from humble school teacher to formation leader in a mere 3 billionths of a second.

The Wonderful 101 is coming on August 23 in Europe and September 15 in North America. Check out our E3 preview for more on this Wii U exclusive from Platinum Games.

Can't decide if i'll buy this day 1 or not. Kamiya has said it's a short game, but with tonnes of replay. Will have to see how things shape up closer to release.

He said "if you like long games instead of fun ones fuck off" he never said nothing about this game being short, quite the opposite, recently he said it is around 20 hours

Oh, weird. I must have read what he said wrong.

Um... This game is arguably the one that looked the most original and enjoyable to me. But can't say this trailer impressed me much. Specially since supposedly it's trying to explain stuff... and it only made things more confusing to me. Still looks good though, and just because it's made by platinum, I want it to do well. I definitely can see that voice acting becoming obnoxious though.

I think it'll depend on what purposes and actions the voice acting will used. Otherwise they vary but if they stick with a usual Schick, it probably might be. That rather big round Green fellow has one hell of a dutch voice, I'll say that, its not present in this trailer but has in past.

Im loving the inspiration on the style. Its like Capcom told Platinum "No, we still own Viewtiful Joe and Dante you can't use them" and Platinum just went "Fine we'll make our own versions " :P

I was excited for this at one point, now... not so much. Really dislike the cutesy, big headed character styling. And the voice acting sounds kinda lame already, ah well, maybe it'll surprise me.

The big headed style is a throwback to Viewtiful Joe, and it makes sense considering Platinum is the remains of Clover Studios.

I do get that, and as much as I love Platinum and their work, I just can't get excited. I do hope that will change, I need more reasons to get a WiiU.
