Games from the Neo Geo console will be making their way to the Japanese Virtual Console in September, SNK has confirmed.

The arrival of the new format on the Wii retro download service will kick off on September 11 with beat-'em-up, Fatal Fury, followed later that month by another fighter, World Heroes, and scrolling action game, Magician Lord. Neo Geo games will cost 900 Wii Points.

Welcoming another Monday, this week's Virtual Console releases have arrived once again. They're a little on the obscure side, having never appeared in Animal Crossing, and with little to no cosplay appeal. But that doesn't mean these oldies ain't goodies. In case you didn't know, 100 Wii points is equal to one genuine American greenback. Just don't tell Canada. Their conversion is a total grift.

Film licensed titles have been the mainstay of developers bank balances ever since the release of Some Like It Hot Pong and Gone With The Wind Invaders. Its just a case of squeezing out a simple platforming game and letting the brand sell itself. But its not always so easy. Some films, no matter what, just wont work as games. If only someone could tell the developers.

Back in ye olde days of 8-bit gaming, we didn't have teh interwebs or in-depth FAQs to get us through hours of repetitive dungeons and mindless enemies. We had to do it all ourselves, patiently praying for a wave of cheat codes to come in the next issue of Nintendo Power. Then, after countless hours (literally, because no game would count the hours) we'd see the ending... just to view another 8-bit sunset.

Seriously. Another one. How many games do you think end with a scene of the main ...
Mondays come and go, each with two to three new Virtual Console games to consider. This week's a little different though - we're getting four brand new old games, one of which is the exquisite Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (500 points). The black sheep of the Zelda world turned a few fans away upon its initial release 50 million years ago, but any Nintendo follower worth his fire flowers knows this game's a gem. Stop being a baby and embrace the Zelda II love.

Why the controversy? This one ...
Today is a special case though, as NES mega-classic Ninja Gaiden (500 points) has finally appeared. If you've never taken an 8-bit Ryu Hayabusa through level after level of missile-toting thugs and dive-bombing birds, now's the time.
It's been quite a rollercoaster ride for Virtual Console updates the past several weeks. One Monday we all woke up to Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV and that was it.
