Having released a new (and popular) Wii Sports, it seems fairly obvious that Nintendo would start bundling that with Wii hardware, right? Well, Nintendo rarely does the obvious. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has predicted that Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. could each sell ten million copies this fiscal year.

"… We are launching Wii Sports Resort in Q2 of this fiscal year, then Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros. Wii in Q3 of this fiscal year," Iwata said during a recent financial briefing. "These three titles have already been available for hands-on demonstrations at E3 this year. They were highly evaluated by most of those who actually tried them. Distributors also gave feedback like 'The key player of this holiday season will be Nintendo as expected.' So I believe each of these three software titles have the potential to surpass ten million copies worldwide in the whole fiscal year.

Nintendo's fiscal year may have begun with a 60 percent profit decline, but the company's got no less than three aces up its sleeve, says president Satoru Iwata, who predicts Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. and Wii Fit Plus could each sell 10 million units worldwide this year.

Speaking as part of a question-and-answer session with analysts released as a follow-up to its first-quarter results, Iwata shared early feedback on the trio of games that he considers promising.

600,000 copies sold in Europe since its release on July 24th.

Nintendo has confirmed that its high-profile Wii MotionPlus debutant Wii Sports Resort has sold over 600,000 copies in Europe since its High Street debut on July 24th.

The game is currently enjoying its second week at the top of the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40, having improved upon its debut week sales in its second week on the market.
