Since then the publisher has announced that the latest NPD data shows that Wii Play has now sold more than 10 million units in the United States since the game launched in February 2007. According to the press release, Wii Play is now the top-selling software on all consoles and portable systems in the United States. Wii Play sold 386 000 copies to secure fourth place in February. However, its inclusion with the NPD data continues to be controversial. Most people believe it should not be included because it comes bundled with a free Wii Remote.
