Wii - Wii Fit - Wii Fit storms up UK charts (fastest selling Nintendo game ever) DarkZero writes: "The latest charts in the UK have been made available by ChartTrack, and it has been revealed Wii Fit has stormed to the top of the charts after 3 days of sales since last Friday. Two other Wii games, Mario Kart Wii, and Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games followed in second and third place respectively. The PS3 exclusive that is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue came in a strong fourth place.

Wii Fit reportedly recorded an estimated £16.3m making it the 3rd largest launch in terms of value for a video game. The only game above it are Gran Theft Auto: San Andreas with £24.2m and Halo 3 with £16.9m. Wii Fit also broke Mario Kart Wii's record from a few weeks ago, and has now become Nintendo's fastest selling title in the UK ever, and the six fastest selling game ever, behind the likes of the GTA, Halo and Gran Turismo titles.

It should also be noted that Mario Kart Wii saw a huge drop in sales, slipping by 62%, but still sold enough to hit second place on the charts in the country."

Wii - Wii Fit - Wii Fit sold every 4 seconds on launch day It looks as if Wii Fit is well on its way to becoming the fastest selling Wii game ever with retailers telling Pocket-lint that Friday was a blockbusting day for the new fitness game.

It has already outstripped all previous records on Play.com by selling out the entire pre-order allocation in one day leaving the online retailer "overwhelmed" by demand.

A spokesperson for the DSG group, that includes Currys, PC World and Dixons.co.uk, told Pocket-lint that they were selling a copy of Wii Fit every four seconds on Friday, with some stores now sold out of the game.

An Amazon.co.uk spokesperson also informed us that Wii Fit has proved "wildly popular" and their stock was sold out within 24 hours. Although they would not release exact figures they said the sales levels were "unprecedented for a fitness product."

Wii - Wii Fit - Nintendo rolling in money as Wii nears 25 million units Chris Greenhough reports:

''Nintendo hasn't just been sitting prettily on its laurels these past twelve months. Nope, the Kyoto firm has kept itself occupied by generating giant wads of filthy lucre, in readiness for when it takes over the world with Satoru Iwata as our new supreme overlord, and Shiggy his ruthless, iron-fisted deputy. Or something.

The company has released details of its full year results for the period ended March 31st, 2008, and guess what? Nintendo is rich. Profits shot up by 47.7 percent, while sales rose by 73 percent (to ¥1.67 trillion, or $16.1bn).''

Wii - Wii Fit - Wii Fit: Weigh your pet America may be one of the last territories to be receiving Wii Fit, but one humorous additions that will be exclusive to the North American version of the game is the ability to weigh your pet. Gamers who play Wii Fit will receive a message that they can weigh their pet by weighing themselves with the pet first, and then alone. The difference between these two values will give the player the weight of their pet. Miyamoto originally planned for this feature to be in the Japanese version of Wii Fit, but time constraints forced the development team to scratch out the idea.

Wii - Wii Fit - South Africa's Wii Fit 25 Day Challenge You've probably heard of the Kellogg's All-Bran 10 day Challenge. Well this is a challenge with a difference, it's the Wii Fit 25 Day Challenge.

Core Gaming has decided to put Wii Fit to the ultimate test by getting the media to take the 25 Day Challenge by getting into shape with Wii Fit and helping the community at the same time.

Members of the media who attended this morning's launch of Wii Fit were each given a Wii console and a copy of Wii Fit, which comes bundled with the Wii Balance Board. The objective is simple: improve your fitness and your Body Mass Index (BMI) in 25 days.

"The plan is to put Wii Fit to the ultimate test, by trying out the fitness tool for the review period of 25 days. Every day, from Monday to Friday, each journalist is to complete their Wii Fit workout, a programme tailored to their individual fitness needs," says Matthew Grose, General Manager of Core Gaming.

The first step will be to complete Wii Fit's initial diagnostic procedure. This will calculate your BMI and centre of gravity as well as identify your fitness needs and design a workout schedule consisting of a daily series of exercises. Thereafter the aim is to stay on target by using the Balance Board at least once a day, although you can change this programme to include your favourite games or adjust the difficulty level to more suit your needs.

Here's the real gem ¿ the five journalists who complete the 25 Day Challenge and most improve their BMI will get to redistribute the Wii Fit units used by the winners to a charity of their choice. Many of you have probably heard of how Wii Fit is revolutionising many retirement homes, being used to brighten children's hospitals and even making it on board cruise ship liners.

Wii - Wii Fit - EEDAR on NPD: 360/PS3 Price Cuts In Sight, Industry Remains Robust Consumers might be seeing price cuts for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 in the coming months, claimed analyst Jesse Divnich of research firm EEDAR in a report sent to Gamasutra following today's NPD sales figures for March.

Divnich pointed to the lower-than-expected sales of Xbox 360 and PS3 as evidence that the systems might be plateauing. "These hardware results would indicate that both systems have likely saturated their potential market at their current price points," he wrote. "If we do not see any price cuts in the coming weeks, we can likely expect some hardware cuts once GTA IV loses some steam (before July) or if the GTA IV release significantly drives hardware sales for one console over the other."
