Wii Fit

History’s filled with exciting people and events, which has made it something of a goldmine for videogame premises over the years. However, not a lot of people actually pay close attention to history – and even if they did, sketchy records and opinionated historians have large chunks of it fairly murky. That means games, like other forms of history-exploiting media, can get away with bending the truth, leaving out key details or just creating wildly fictionalized versions of factual events.

Sometimes, though, they take it a little too far, and portray real people as slavering, irredeemable monsters for the sake of entertainment. So let’s take a loot at a few of the most egregious examples and try to set the record straight...

Best. Injury. Ever. That’s right, a woman has just been transformed into a sex-obsessed deviant after her libido was jump-started into orbit by a freak nerve injury while playing Wii Fit. The young woman, called Amanda, has apparently developed 'persistent sexual arousal syndrome' due to the accident.

Thankfully, there are no randy desires that can't be smacked down by playing some really, really dull games. So if you've suffered a similar affliction, we suggest getting to grips with the following titles, which are essentially the gaming equivalent of a cold shower.

Games are worse than a daily diet of 40 cigarettes, 14 deep fried Mars Bars and downing two bottles of quadruple distilled Russian vodka. Well, that’s if this obnoxiously 90’s healthy gaming poster is to be believed. So to save us all from becoming 40 stone blobs who need our fat asses fork-lifted out of bed, we’ve come up with five totally practical ways to exercise while we game.

A lot can happen in 10 years. And it has. As part of this week's post-mortem of the last decade in gaming, we now present for you some of the weirdest, depressing, arousing, significant, entertaining and amusing events, happenings and milestones that have occurred in the wonderful world of games during the soon-to-be-expired Noughties.

The Wii is the home of clueless casual gamers, housewives and grannies: fact. Ok, so that’s not entirely true, but there’s no doubt the aforementioned groups have helped propel the little white box into the sales stratosphere. But while they’re undoubtedly the backbone of Nintendo’s current business model, there’s only so long they can last on Wii Sports and Wii Fit. That’s why we’ve taken some of

This year marks the 29th GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards which will be held in London, England on 21 October 2011. For the maths-challenged that means the first GJAs was held way back in 1982.

Don’t get us wrong – we’re big time Nintendo fans. But you have to admit, the past year has been rather trying for longtime followers. Last year’s “surprise” reveal of Wii Music at E3 just about made our heads explode, and the continued domination of Wii Play and Wii Fit have us preemptively bracing for the worst possible outcome at next week’s massive trade show in Los Angeles (which we’ll be updating from every six seconds).

What's in a name? Well, when it comes to video games names, usually a lot of tiresome buzz words, clichéd phrases and way too much use of the letter x. We're tired of titles chosen by marketing men, which are more concerned with selling us an idea than telling us about the actual game. The following games are all guilty of these naming shames, so that's why we've given each a new moniker to more accurately sum up either what each one is about or the legacy each one has left.

Guaranteed 100% accurate unless wrong.

GamesRadar is no stranger to the list article. Hell, we've posted at least one every week for nearly two years. They're fun to write, easy to read and get the job done in a fraction of the time it'd take you to barf all that information out in non-list form.

But some topics demand a more in-depth touch, and the idea-nauts at GR are more than capable of delivering wordy, researched material for those with enough time to digest it.
