Armed police raided a Manchester man's living room after they mistook his plastic Lara Croft mannequin for a gunman.

Computer shop owner David Williams, 42, had taken the dummy home to flog it on eBay (naughty, naughty!) but little did he know, his cheeky dealings would soon land him with a gun in his face.

Mr. Williams, a father of two, had phoned the police after receiving nuisance phone calls from the local hoodies. ...

Dec 3, 2007

It could well turn out that Tomb Raider Underworld is the name Eidos will slap on Lara Croft's next adventure.

Reports indicate that the publisher has filed for trademark of the phrase 'Tomb Raider Underworld' with the Patent and Trademark Office.

'Underworld' has led to speculation that the new Tomb Raider game may find Croft mixing it up with seedy criminal elements, but it could of course just be a reference to the core of the sequel involving underground antics. Either way, ...
You had to see this one coming. Despite all the hooplah about Lara returning to the console that made her famous (well, its successor, anyhow), you had to know that the PlayStation 2 would not be the only place you could get your Tomb Raider Anniversary fix. Now, the game that looked uncannily good on PS2 looks, well, pretty much the same on Wii.

With last years Tomb Raider Legend, new developer Crystal Dynamics tore down the decadent remains of what Tomb Raider had turned into and laid a ...

This week, Eidos is releasing to retail the Xbox 360 version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. And while it typically doesn't take much for the buxom heroine to turn heads of her own accord, Eidos is capitalizing on the increased attention anyway by announcing that Wii gamers will have a chance to go hands on with Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Anniversary on November 13.
One of the best in-gags in gaming history is the "Lara Nude Cheat." For all the old Tomb Raider games, Core would leak a cheat that claimed to turn Lara naked. In reality, once you'd managed to pull off the complex moves, your only reward was to watch your heroine violently explode with a scream, her arms, legs and head flying off in different directions.

Gone are such innocent times, thanks to the mod scene. Now you can have Lara look any way you wish in TR: Anniversary (sorry ...
1) Wrecking the T-Rex
During the first few hours of play, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Tomb Raider's bestiary of enemies is nothing other than the stuff of National Geographic - bears, wolves, crocodiles and the like. Push on to The Lost World area though, and Anniversary gets Jurassic on your ass, dropping you into the path of an enraged, prehistoric Goliath with teeth like kitchen knives. And Lara takes it down with just her ...
It's inevitable. Sooner or later, everything will end up on the Wii. The system is just too big a cash cow for publishers to pass up, regardless of how little sense their games would make with a motion-sensitive control scheme. So when we learned that PS2's Tomb Raider: Anniversary was being adapted for Wii, we feared that the recently resurrected and revitalized Lara Croft would be the next victim of this craze.

After seeing the port in action, however, we can admit its ...
