Chances are, at some point in your romantic life, you'll have had a stinker of a date. Your potential love interest might have snuck off to the toilet when it was time to pay the bill and never came back. Maybe they had breath so bad, it would sink a luxury cruise liner. Or worse, perhaps they just had an annoying laugh. Still, we doubt any of these disastrous encounters can match the potential pitfalls of dating certain game characters, which include finding out your date is just a cover for an elobarte hit, getting set on fire during a romantic walk, or having your partner morph into a boulder monster mid sexy time.
It's a milestone for TalkRadar UK, which reaches its 50th episode in some style. It's party time both in terms of the hats donned by messrs Cundy, Towell, Houghton and Meikleham and in terms of the subjects tackled. With an electric guitar, cosplay and a magic trick (all shown in video inside), this is one podcast you should definitely not miss.
Lend it your ears:
There aren't many things that everyone in the world goes through in life. Being born is one of those things. But, strangely, this most natural of bodily functions is very rarely tackled in video games. Maybe it's because babies come from a part of a woman that you just can't show in a game (unless you're rendering character statues in Resident Evil 5, apparently). Or maybe there just aren't enough virtual clean towels and hot water to go around.
So, clearly, when a game does tackle this subject, it's almost always memorable. So here are the top 7 births in gaming.
Mario and Luigi. Abbott and Costello. Sunny and Cher. All fine double acts, no doubt. But you know the thing each of them were missing? Good old fashioned slaughter to really solidify their partnerships. That’s where the grizzly duos inside come into play. Inspired by our recent playthrough of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, we’ve decide to document some of gaming’s recent, really homicidal pairings. Two murderers are better than one, after all.

Parents like to claim that videogames are destroying our nation's youth, but that doesn't stop them using the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 as surrogate babysitters so they can continue having unprotected sex and squirting out more little toads that they won't look after properly.
With this in mind, it's clear that videogames and the characters within have a moral and social responsibility to our future generations...
Germany’s (hell, the World’s) least favourite film helmer is the most hated man in games. You hate him. Most of Team Radar hate him. Your second cousin who once played House of the Dead II in college absolutely detests him. But with more Boll video game flicks in production - namely Zombie Massacre and Blood Rayne III - we thought it was time someone rode to the defence of the detested director.
If there’s one thing us gamers like more than freezing our knackers off during midnight launches, it’s complaining. Everything sucks anyway, so we might as well hate on that clipping on level nine or how Nintendo ‘don’t get us’ anymore. So in honour of how rubbish games and everything about them clearly are, we present the top trends we all really, really, really love to bitch about.
Warning: The following
In the second day of our 'Decade in gaming' mega-feature, we're looking at the most downright abominable gaming moments of the last 10 years.
We began this year full of hope for software success on the Wii, the little system that did. As it entered its third year on the market, fans dreamed of seeing the end of shovelware, as developers had now had plenty of time to make great games for the console. Maybe we’d see some great original content at last? No more PSP ports and half-finished releases, now that developers had come to understand the console so well?
In a medium full of perfect teeth, washboard stomachs and breasts that have their own gravitational pull, it’s rare to see characters with disabilities. But they do exist… and they’ve done some badass things. Be it killing gods, eating hardened soldiers or even creating the Nintendo universe; being physically challenged never got in the way of this bunch’s fun.
