The golf in Wii Sports is surprisingly fun, but it's hardly deep or realistic. Along with every other sport represented in the game, it plays more like an appetizer - a fun little sample of what can and should be expected from Wii sports titles in the future. The more you play it, the more you'll wish for a bigger and fuller golf simulator.

Super Swing Golf is the answer to that wish. Though certainly not perfect, it manages to fulfill the potential shown in Wii Sports Golf, delivering a ...

Enterbrain has revealed software sales figures for the Nintendo Wii in Japan, with first-party developed titles leading the pack on the first weekend of release.

Wii Sports was the best-selling game, racking up sales of 176,880 units, with Wii Play reaching 171,888 units.

Fan-favourite The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the third best-selling game, shifting 145,068 copies, way ahead of the number four game, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, which reached 63,086 sales.

Tecmo's Super Swing Golf was the only third-party title in the top five, selling 12,673 copies, while Ubisoft's Red Steel, a title receiving a lot of press in the US and Europe, sold just under 9000 units to become the eighth most popular launch game.

The software tie-in ratio for the home console stands at 1.69, with Enterbrain reporting over 372,000 Wii's were sold over the first weekend in the region.
Are you one of those people who just cant see the point of playing sports in a videogame? Because isnt the whole goal of sports to engage in physical activity… while the end result of videogames is usually a whole lot of sitting on your ass? If so, the Nintendo Wii may be the console for you.

For example - golf. Most gaming translations of the sport have you pressing buttons and not much else. But Wii launch title Super Swing Golf forces you to stand up, grab a club (in this case, the ...
The Wii will take tired old ideas and make them sing, at least for the first year. That's the only conclusion we could draw after hands-on time with Super Swing Golf. On the face of it, there's not much creativity in this game: it's stuffed with saccharine little girls in frilly skirts hitting golf balls through winter wonderlands while excruciatingly bouncy music beats your brain into a pink pulp.

But, when you use the Wii controller to make a shot...

See, this is just Mario Golf in ...
Tecmo has announced plans to bring PangYa, an online golf game you've probably never heard of, to the Nintendo Revolution when the system launches in Japan later this year.

PangYa is currently playable on PCs across the world, and is very popular in Japan. According to the official English website's charmingly poor description, "PangYa is a casual golf game that takes difficult rules of golf and transforms it into cute and easy to understand format so that everyone can enjoy it together." ...
