Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Brawl is America's fastest selling Nintendo game of all time

NoA ships 1.4 million units in eighteen days

Nintendo of America has revealed that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has become the fasting selling game in its history, shifting more than 1.4 million units since March 8.

NoA even gave us some sums, working out that the game sold more than 120 units per minute since launch and March 16. That's some pretty sweet math.

"Super Smash Bros. Brawl has made the leap from video game to cultural phenomenon," said Cammie Dunaway, NoA executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Game reviewers and the public alike praise its fun game play and extensive, inventive content."

We'd like to point out that Brawl is not a cultural phenomenon and is just in fact a hugely successful game. In our minds, a videogame cultural phenomenon is measured by how many times Jon Stewart mentions it on The Daily Show.

"It's important to remember," Dunaway went on to say, "that we have lots more fun on the way: Upcoming titles like Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit will keep our momentum going strong."

Forget new titles - we'd settle for a release date for Smash Bros. in Europe, Cammie.
