According to the statement, Nintendo has received complaints from Smash Bros. Brawl buyers of the Wii being unable to read their newly bought disc, or of videos chopping up during playback. These users claim to have had no such problems with past games.
As Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSBB) fans in North America anxiously await the March 9 launch of the highly anticipated title, the wait in Japan is over. Japanese gamers came by the masses throughout Tokyo today to pick up a copy of the game, with shortages now appearing evident in the region. With that, like some distributors in Japan, at least one eBay seller is looking to profit over the huge demand for SSBB that Nintendo simply cannot meet.
Super Smash Bros Brawl has only been released in Japan for a short time. Already though, most of the important information has been shared by hardcore gamers who've played the game tirelessly these past few days. With the final roster having been revealed, there is a new rumor floating around the internet...
OnAxis reports USA Today recently let out their list for the top eight promising games for 2008. Out of the eight games, four are for the PLAYSTATION 3, two on the Xbox 360, two on the Wii, and one on the PC.
IGN writes: "While we had no problem starting up (and eventually falling in love with) Smash Bros. Brawl, just released to Japan yesterday, Japanese game site Mantan Web reports that a few buyers have been having some trouble with the game."
Nintendo has dismissed suggestions a 1st June date has been set for the UK release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl - despite said suggestions having appeared on the company's own website.
IGN reports that Nintendo may just have a hit on its hands with this "Smash Brothers" game. Released in Japan earlier today, Smash Bros. got masses of consumers to line up outside of retailers prior to opening time -- a rare site for a game that isn't Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy.

Destructoid recently told you about potential Super Smash Bros. Brawl shortages for the game's Japanese launch, but now an update from importer National Console Support makes the situation look more like a short delay.
Kotaku writes: "Earlier, we brought news of a minor Super Smash Bros. Brawl bug. The screen goes black and displays an error message that the game cannot be booted. However, the bug doesn't actually effect the game and can be ignored. Another retail-minded site Game no Urabanashi confirms this rumor, point out that the error message occurs when the game is first started up on consoles that haven't been updated since last summer.
Thanks to Japanese game stores breaking the January 31st street date, VGB shows six new veteran Super Smash Bros. characters for Brawl. The newly confirmed characters are: Luigi, Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, Marth, Falco Lombardi and Mr. Game & Watch.

Japanese game site ORE-N0-WEB 3rd i floats the rumor that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is shipping with a showstopping bug. Before we dive in, a bit about that site: It's run by someone who claims to a gaming insider (perhaps a game shop owner). The site mentions that Japanese retailers are getting notices that SSBB is shipping with a minor bug that displays an error message that the game cannot be booted.
Looks like Nintendo is trying stop spoilers as best they can. Go Nintendo reports that the official guide has been delayed to March 9th as well.
Gamertell via Brawl Central reports that Kiosks in Japan are having demos of the title set up this weekend. There have also been recent rumors floating around the internet that US gamers will soon be sampling the game as well.
