Nintendo revealed six first party-published Wii games that have sold over a million copies worldwide on October 26. IGN reports five out of the six:

1. Wii Sports: 11.1 million
2. Wii Play: 6.3 million
3. Mario Party 8: 2.9 million
4. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree: 1.8 million
5. Mario Strikers Charged: 1.3 million

IGN has apparently made an error and omitted the sixth title. According to user comments at IGN and Wikipedia, the missing title could be either The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (3.61 million), Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (1.82 million), or Super Paper Mario (1.74 million).

After taking months and months to finally release Super Paper Mario in Europe, it's now emerged that there's a potential bug in the game that freezes gameplay and requires you to reset your Wii.

According to Nintendo Europe "the situation where the error occurs is so specific, it's very possible that you may not experience any issue at all". However, just in case, it's released a statement regarding the potential bug - which occurs at the start of chapter 2-2 - and has offered to replace copies of the game with a new version that doesn't contain the problem.

Nintendo's European arm is finally beginning the gear up to the release of Super Paper Mario in the region on September 14. Its website reports that there is more to Super Paper Mario than meets the eye, especially if you visit the site through your Wii's Opera Internet Browser.

Nintendo's European website divulges the following information:

"In the Wii Menu, open the Internet Channel and find the Nintendo site under your favourites. The central banner takes you to the Super Paper Mario website. Once you're at the site, look for the icon of the Wii Remote at the top if the page. Select that icon to activate the power of Tippi, a Pixl from Super Paper Mario who helps him uncover some of the game's many secrets."

According to Spong.com, Super Paper Mario on Wii will be released September 14th in Europe.

In case you've never experienced dead-tree Mario, here's the rough idea according to Nintendo, "As with the previous two games in the Paper Mario series, all characters are as flat as a sheet of paper. However, our hero Mario can manipulate the environment around him to his benefit, opening up new paths and possibilities with the ability to 'flip' from 2D to 3D at will. This ability comes in handy throughout the game and is crucial to the progress of the player in his rescue mission."

Intelligent Systems, the team behind countless classics such as Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion and the Paper Mario RPGs, has been hard at work on a Paper Mario spin-off called Super Paper Mario, a platform-cum-RPG for the GameCube, which was supposed to launch in Japan toward the end of August. The game, however, suspiciously disappeared from release lists, along with the long gone new Kirby GC game, and people wondered what was going on.

Now, if Matt from IGN is to be believed, the game has been practically confirmed as coming to the Nintendo Wii instead.

The trailer was beautiful, but it always seemed suspicious that Super Paper Mario was set for release on a "lesser" console right around the time that Wii is expected to launch. Now comes word that there will be no GameCube release for SPM, and that the title will jump directly to Wii.
