Videogamer writes: "Ubisoft has this afternoon responded to pro snowboarder Shaun White's apparent confirmation that a second Shaun White Snowboarding title is in the works.

However, when contacted by VideoGamer.com this afternoon, a spokesperson for Ubisoft said: "We have not announced any plans for future projects with Shaun."

While true, this is by no means a denial that a follow-up to the snowboarding game isn't being worked on."

Following on from the news that 40% of the 295,000 Shaun White Snowboarding (Wii review) sales have been for the Wii format so far, the Olympic snowboarding King himself has gone on record as saying that a sequel is in the works.

White said: "Now that I have the knowledge and I can speak to programmers better and I understand a lot more about what's possible and what's not possible, this will all help with the next game.'"

While using the board is fun and it copes well enough with the fast-paced gameplay, it’s undeniably slower to control than using a stick. Today Ubisoft announces that Shaun White Snowboarding for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, the Wii home video game system from Nintendo, the Nintendo DS system and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, and the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system have gone gold. The game is scheduled for release on November 16, 2008.

Business week writes: "To launch its alternative sports title Shaun White Snowboarding, Ubisoft is trying an alternative approach to the traditional videogame ad formula. The French game-maker will spend $10 million to run a series of nontraditional media buys leading up to the title's Nov. 16 launch.

Anyone watching South Park's first two episodes will find the game nearly impossible to miss. For the series premiere Oct. 8, Ubisoft bought out all of the ad inventory and will run three separate two-minute spots for its flagship Shaun White Snowboarding, Prince of Persia and Farcry 2 titles. The second episode will feature only ads for Shaun White Snowboarding."
