If the controls weren’t so damned fiddly, we might even have gone as far as to label it quite good. Alas, in trying to make use of all the Wii’s control functions, including the balance board and MotionPlus, it’s just too complicated.

And though it matters not for the sound of the thing, but man, did Traveller's Tales beat Rock Band with the ugly stick.

Ultimately, it’s an acceptable racer rather than a mind-blowing one. Still, Codemasters has never been under any illusion about F1 2009’s purpose; as a pick-up-and-play racer that daddy and his younglings can use together and as a fan-calming appetizer before the ‘real’ thing next year.
