Rygar: The Battle of Argus

On the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop this week are two titles that will test your mental agility: one based in space, the other much more down to earth. On WiiWare is the futuristic-styled action-puzzle game Spaceball: Revolution, while Nintendo DSiWare is treated to not one but two of the world's most popular card games, in 2-in-1 Solitaire.

1Up writes: I have some bad news for people who were looking forward to picking up Rygar: The Battle of Argus for the Wii this week...it's been delayed until February of next year. No reason was cited by Tecmo, but it's likely the publisher wanted to avoid the busy holiday season (after all, the game is entirely done and ready to go). Also, no changes are going to be made to the game in the meantime -- it's just being held for an extra two months. This isn't the first time the game was delayed, either; it was originally supposed to ship earlier this fall. Tecmo will likely make an official announcement of the delay tomorrow morning. Unfortunately for me, I found out about the delay just this morning...after I spent all last night playing it to have my review ready for tomorrow's release. Sigh. At least I had a great time with it -- the game is just as fun as it was on the PS2, meaning that Wii owners seeking a good God of War or Castlevania style action/adventure game that missed out on Rygar the first time around ought to look forward to it.

Tecmo has revealed the first info on the next installment of the acclaimed Rygar franchise, Project Rygar, including the fact that it will be a Wii exclusive. Score one more for the Wii as it adds another promising 3rd party exclusive and another more mature themed game to it's growing library.

Publisher Tecmo, usually noted for its Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises, has announced a new entry in its oft-forgotten Rygar series. And it's exclusive to Wii. No details, no screens, no release date, nothing. Just be happy there's going to be another Rygar, even if the main character looks nothing like the past two incarnations. Just check him out below. Doesn't look much like this or this, does it? Also, let's hope this game is hot as hell, cuz God of War had upped the ante
