Rock Band Wii is skipping out on one of the biggest features of the series, song downloads. If this were not bad enough, the Wii version is also skipping online play. Sadly, a lack of online play has become standard fare for Nintendo. When will Nintendo let best friends such as 1423-2344-5355 and 1254-5332-2412 play games together?

Kotaku writes, File it under mega rumor, but Akihabara Blue is claiming that the Spanish media is very much in the know (but under embargo) that EA will be reducing Rock Band Europe's projected price to 169 € (down from 240 €)-a metric that would offer a 1:1ish dollar to euro conversion to ease the purchase a bit.
EA has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that Rock Band will be coming out on PS3, PS2 and Wii on August 29, giving Microsoft a full three months of Xbox 360 exclusivity.

Harmonix, developer of the rather excellent Rockband, has today told VideoGamer.com that it is "not trying to screw people" with the high price of the game.
VG247: According to IGN, the European Rock Band Instrument Pack will not include an actual copy of the game.
As rumoured last week, Rock Band will release on May 23 in Europe. The site's also confirmed the Neogaf posting that the game will be a time exclusive for Xbox 360, with Wii and PS3 versions hitting later in the year.

Was Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopoulos spot on when he said that Rock Band would "training an army of a million drummers"? Maybe. It, at the very least, helped train one, Attack of the Show's Kevin Periera. He recently applied his 98% expert-level skills on Coheed and Cambria's "Welcome Home" to some real life Coheed and Cambria.

It's official. Harmonix, MTV Games and Electronic Arts have announced the upcoming June 22, 2008 release of Rock Band for the Nintendo Wii system. The bundle will retail for $169.99. The drums, microphone and wireless guitar will also be available for purchase separately on June 22nd as well.
