Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 550 songs is available. A recent Billboard article raised eyebrows by stating that Rock Band's downloadable song catalog would grow to a whopping 5,000 by the end of the year. However, Blend Games has learned that this just ain't so.
The line up includes "Siva"from Smashing Pumpkins, "Tell Me Baby" from Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Cars' classic hit "Just What I Needed." The offering also features the hit single "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Live Forever" from Oasis and the 30 Seconds to Mars hit "Attack."

Today Fender and Little Kids Rock, a non-profit music education organization, announced that an informal survey they conducted in November 2008 revealed that music games like "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero" actually do inspire students to play real instruments. The survey polled 812 music instructors and said that enrollment in music programs has increased in the past year.
Harmonix's Alex Rigopulos says that "Rock Band" has encouraged more people to learn how to play real instruments. He also speaks briefly on The Beatles licensing.

In the coming weeks and months we will be adding more songs from the back catalog to catch Wii users up with other systems. All tracks (that aren't the bolded free ones below) are 200 points."
