Wii Review
Dec 13, 2007 Jenga - the real game - is ostensibly a party game that draws people together by having them dismantle a tower of blocks. In reality, it's usually just more work than its worth, breaking down into a mess in less time than it takes to set up. If Atari's attempt to virtualize this game is successful in any way, it's that it emulates that problem of being more of a pain than a fun experience, with or without friends. In real Jenga, the actual challenge comes with pulling out a ...

Wii - Jumper: Griffin's Story - Jumper: Griffin's Story After burning through the brief and deplorable Xbox 360 version of Jumper: Griffin's Story, we wondered if the cel-shaded Wii iteration could be any worse (or any longer, for that matter). The answer to both queries is "no" - the full campaign still weighs in at about two hours in length, but the rest of the beat-'em-up experience doesn't fall quite as flat on its face for one obvious reason: it doesn't try as hard. In place of the ...

Wii - Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore - Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore Few expected the pairing of the Karaoke Revolution franchise and the popular American Idol television license (previously tied to a horrifying 2003 dance game) to produce such a genuine, revitalized iteration of the aging sing-along series, but it happened - and we're better singers because of it (maybe). Thirteen months later, Konami is back with Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore, and the addition of that final word to the ...

Wii - Kawasaki Jet Ski - Kawasaki Jet Ski Kawasaki Jet Ski is the fifth Wii racing game released by publisher Bold Games (a sub-brand of Destineer) within the first month of 2008 – which would be a remarkable feat, were it something to be celebrated. Like its budget brethren, Kawasaki Jet Ski appears to have been compiled entirely by machines, offering a generic, unchallenging take on the genre popularized by Wave Race 64 back in 1996. In fact, with limp waves and even limper ...

Wii - Kawasaki Quad Bikes - Kawasaki Quad Bikes Kawasaki Quad Bikes is an example of branding at its most obvious coupled with poor attention to the basics. Starting off, there are only a few vehicles to choose from and no discernable differences other than color and bulk. It turns out they perform differently on certain terrains, but you only learn that through plenty of trial and error. The tracks include the usual off-road racing variants: dirty, muddy, rocky, sandy, gravely, snowy and ...

Nov 30, 2007 Crazy golf isnt the most hilarious thing at the best of times - its a glorified crèche for holidaymakers children. But Oxygen would claim theyre in on the joke. They know that crazy golf is held in little regard, which is why they made it all so dreadfully tacky. Not rubbish, mind - its ironic. Those jaggy graphics that look sharp enough to saw plywood? Thats tongue in cheek, that is. ...

Somewhere in the world, there's an animal psychologist using Kororinpa: Marble Mania to determine scientifically, once and for all, if capuchin monkeys are smarter than Paris and Nicky Hilton (and after that, we're guessing, how much). The concept is dead simple - you have a marble, which you need to guide on a jewel-grabbing roll through a floating, maze-like track by tilting the Wii remote - so both groups can instantly grasp the concept. Moreover, because the controls are so in-tune, so ...

Wii Review
Kororinpa makes us feel guilty. Sort of. It's not that it's usurped Monkey Ball's place in our hearts, exactly, it's just that... well... now we've seen so much more of it, we kind of want Monkey Ball to pack a bag full of its tired, tedious minigames and get its embarrassing soundtrack and limited flexibility out of our goddamn lives forever. It's time for Kororinpa to move in - glorious Kororinpa with its 100% responsive meaty 3D, its sanity-defying corner leaps and turns and its entire lack ...

Wii - Kung Fu Panda - Kung Fu Panda

With Brutal Legend’s fate still undecided, you might think us mad for recommending Kung Fu Panda as an alternative adventure starring Jack Black (not least because all the voices in this tie-in game are sadly provided by so-so stand-ins), but bear with us. First of all, we’re not so addled with bonhomie thanks to our experience with this silly game to deny that the action is the definition of ‘par for the course’. The ...

Wii - The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon - The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon

Ever since Spyro the Dragon first glided onto the PlayStation 10 years ago, he’s been struggling to find solid footing in the platform gaming world. His games have been criticized in the past for being overly complicated for younger gamers yet too childish for older ones. Unfortunately, Dawn Of The Dragon is pretty much more of the same. ...
