As usual, Europeans arrive late to the party. It has been released for $30 in America, which seemed like a fair price. Lets do some simple math here :
With the September 21st release of Resident Evil: Extinction on the horizon, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced plans to squeeze a bit more juice out of the first two Resident Evil films on DVD. On September 4th, the Resident Evil: Double Feature Resurrected Edition will hit DVD at a suggested retail price of just $19.94, and will include a coupon for a free theatrical viewing of Extinction.
It's been over a decade since Resident Evil, the most terrifying, imitated, and intense zombie-virus video game franchise to hit your TV screens made its mark on the gaming industry, and fans have been hungrier than a T-virus infected dogs for figures and collectibles. Last year NECA celebrated the 10 years of gory greatness with their Resident Evil: Anniversary Series 1 Action Figures, and this year they get even grislier with some of your favorite monsters from the franchise in Series 2.
For Resident Evil fans and Wii owners this piece of news is going to be a wooden foot in the balls ¿ Resident Evil 4 for the Wii is going to be an innocent title. That's right boys and girls, limbs will no longer fall, blood won't be splattering here and there as you were used to and so on. Add this to the simplified control scheme and what do you get? A great survival-horror video game screwed up by the Wii.
Japanese game magazine Famitsu were the first to review Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. Their verdict?
While most of us can still only dream of a chance to play the Wii version of Resident Evil 4, the editors of Famitsu DS+Wii were apparently spending some quality time with the real thing long ago. The Nintendo-oriented monthly sister publication of Weekly Famitsu offered opinions on the game in its July issue, which just hit Japanese news stands today.
The idea of Resident Evil 4 for the Wii just got more tasty-like-brains delicious with the pricing pegged at $29.99. Capcom's official site priced the game confirming earlier reports of the low pseudo-budget price.
The Wii edition of Resident Evil 4 will be released on June 29th, and Nintendo themselves are set to publish the Capcom created title.
IGN have taken another look at the official website for the game and noticed a control chart showcasing how the game has been adapted for the Wiimote. They've translated the chart from Japanese and it can be viewed below.
Capcom has put out a release both confirming Resident Evil 4 and adding a few details about Umbrella Chronicles as well. RE4 for Wii will be including the additional content found in the PlayStation 2 version of the game.
