By the time winter passes by, the Wii will have seen the release of two Resident Evil games: Umbrella Chronicles and The Darkside Chronicles. However, Capcom chose to develop both games on-rails instead of as third-person shooters.
Paul W.S. Anderson tells Shock Till You Drop that Resident Evil: Afterlife will be his 4th RE film, but not a sequel. Instead the series will be revamped and start as a whole new trilogy. Afterlife will have a bigger budget than the previous films and will see the return of old characters and new ones. The film will also be joining that whole 3D fad that decided to rear its head up from the 70's.

RE4 was originally meant to be exclusive to the Gamecube, but concerns over sales led Capcom to release the title on PS2, and later on PC, with additional content.
