Slipperyfish.net is my own site, I was browsing gamefly and noticed in my game Queue that Red Steel was marked for a 10/26 release. I screenshotted and posted it...the resulting page was what I sent!
French publishers and developers Ubisoft have several treats awaiting the Wii's release in the launch window. According to IGN, not only will the confirmed Red Steel and Rayman Raving Rabbids titles be making the launch window, but a few other titles will also be making their way to the Wii.
An intriguing Red Steel multiplayer detail recently surfaced during GamePro's interview with Ubisoft creative director Nicolas Eypert. When asked about the game's multiplayer, Eypert had this to say:
From ReadSteel Blog : "My name is Marie-Sol Beaudry, producer of Red Steel here in the Ubisoft Paris studio. We're excited to share bits of information here on the ongoing development of this Wii exclusive launch title. Along with me, you'll get to hear from our creative director, lead designer, art director and others on their areas of expertise.
Considering how much freedom the Wii controller gives players, it was a little disconcerting when Ubisoft revealed you wouldn't actually have free-form control during sword-play in Red Steel. Instead, players were to swing different pre-set motions with the controller, which the game would translate into a specific attack.
Not only did the remote replicate our actual sword-slashes, but the recenty unveiled motion sensor in the nunchuck could be thrust foreward for parry attacks"
Ubisoft is kicking off the Nintendo Wii in style with this slicing and shooting adventure.
