Rayman Raving Rabbids

Rayman to hit Wii at launch

[Wii] French fancy returns in Raving Rabbids

Monday 8 May 2006
Ubisoft has confirmed that its upcoming Rayman game - now officially called Rayman Raving Rabbids - will be a launch title for Nintendo's Wii and that Michel Ancel, the Rayman creator and brain behind King Kong and Beyond Good & Evil, will oversee the project.

Despite being pencilled in to appear on pretty much every format for this generation and next, the only droplets of info revealed so far about the return of the helicopter-eared oddball come from the Wii-mote-using Wii version.

Free-roaming through a huge platform-packed world that has become overrun with the titular carrot-crunchers, Rayman has to capture and train animals such as sharks, eagles, rhinos and spiders in his battle against the bunnies.

Pitted against the mental Frenchie and his menagerie are hordes of cotton-tailed nutters, each with their own unique characteristics and fighting techniques. And the limbless Ray is also set to gain his own style with the chance to customise his costumes and clobber, both for fun and a way to serve as rabbit-deterring camouflage.

More will be seen of Rayman Raving Rabbids at E3 ahead of its release when Wii launches.
