Wii Preview | Manhunt 2
If you spend much time looking at the internet, you already know that Manhunt 2 has been the subject of a lot of controversy of late, getting slapped with an ultra-prohibitive Adults Only rating stateside and being banned outright in most of Europe. As of this writing, it's unknown whether you'll ever get a chance to play through the blood-drenched saga of Dr. Daniel Lamb yourself, and you'll almost certainly never see it in its original, gloriously violent form. But we have, and the things ...

Wii Preview | Manhunt 2
There's little doubt that Manhunt 2 is going to be another unsettling journey into gaming's darkest alleyways. We've witnessed the brutality that wait in both the Wii and PS2 versions and we can confirm that Rockstar is priming another genuinely disturbing episode for gamers to endure. But the 18-rated gore is only one aspect of creating a truly traumatic ordeal - the world in which the unholy horrors are acted out must provide a suitably bleak setting that will submerge the player fully into ...

Wii Preview | Manhunt 2
We'll just go ahead and cut to the chase for those of you who've been following the development of Manhunt 2: we've seen the infamous bit where a guy gets his testicles and one of his vertebrae removed by a pair of wire cutters, and yes, it's nasty. Not as nasty as the scene playing out in your head right now - the actual gore is limited to spraying blood and horrible fleshy wrenching noises - but nasty nonetheless. We've also seen a pen broken off in a man's throat, a sex-hotel receptionist ...

Wii Preview | Mario Kart Wii
Wii - Mario Kart Wii - Review: Mario Kart Wii [import] The brothers Mario clash on the racetrack. As their karts grind together, the combined mach speed threatens to tear the lip warmers from their very faces. The scene seethes with venom - never has Nintendo dredged up such ferocious rivalry. As an opening FMV? It’s a killer. As an indicator of the day at the races to follow? They’re being a little liberal with the truth.Entering our first race - Luigi’s Circuit in Mario’s ...

Wii Preview | Mario Kart Wii
With Mario Kart Wii, in a lot of ways well be going back to basics. No more double-dashing, or having other characters riding shotgun. One vehicle, one rider and - hopefully - one hell of a time to be had. That said, Nintendo seems to have gone a little wild with the karts. Each character has a range of unique vehicles. Mario has a kart, at least, so the title isnt a lie. Wario has hot rod muscle cars (of course), while Baby Mario poodles about in a turbo-charged pram. Most surprisingly, ...

Wii Preview | Mario Kart Wii
Nov 8, 2007 The more we see of this, the less it seems like it should be limited to the Kart name. Perhaps a better title would be 'Mario Racers' or something like that, as the many vehicles available for each character will also include motorbikes. Flat-out speed seems to be the big advantage to using a bike, with a turbo boost function that hoists the front wheel off the floor and cuts through traffic at a blindingly fast rate. Bikes can still use the normal weapon set available to the ...

Wii Preview | Mario Kart Wii
Oct 18, 2007 Classic circuits from every previous game… Swappable vehicles… Online tournaments with up to 12 players… A huge roster of characters… Brand new motion controls and a free steering wheel. You could knock us down with a green shell if this isn't the biggest and most ambitious Mario Kart to date - and a rival to Smash Bros as Nintendo Online Event of the Year. While we haven't had a great deal of new info to drool over just yet, we've watched the existing ...

Wii Preview | Mario Party 8
So, Mario, weve got another one of your crazy parties to look forward to. Lucky us. What they ought to do is tie in the release date to Marios actual birthday, whenever that may be, and make it a collectors item. Theres a Mario Party every single year anyway, so why not dress it up as a special occasion instead of just another update of a series that seems to have long since lost its shine? Actually, since its on Wii and promises a whole new way of playing an annual multiplayer gaming concept ...
