As challenging as the battles can be, Battle Revolution is thin on content, which is where online play comes in. Unlike Pokemon Diamond and Pearl on the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Battle Revolution has an online matching system through the WiiConnect24 service. Simply tell the game you want to fight someone online and it'll pair you with someone with Pokemon of similar levels to battle against. Of course, you're also free to trade Wii Codes with your friends and battle with them in 3D.
While the game's scope is limited, its execution is solid overall. Easily the best-looking game on the Wii now, the Pokemon and their trainers, the coliseums and, of course, the attacks all look and move great, sporting a level of graphic polish missing from most Wii games. The only blemish is that many of the Pokemon are reused from previous games on older systems, and the difference in visual quality between new and old Pokemon can be noticeable.
