Five things we hate about Pokemon

3) The Elevator Conductor in the Ribbon Syndicate - Tucked away in Diamond/Pearl's Resort Area is a super-exclusive club called The Ribbon Syndicate. It's also home to the most moronic elevator conductor in the known universe. When you talk to the conductor, she asks, "To which floor may I take you?" Well, let's see, there are only two floors in the building and you got in the elevator, which means you want to go to the floor you're not on. There's not really much of a choice is there? And there's really no point to the conductor's stupid query! This elevator conductor needs to be sacked... or fed to a hungry Feraligatr.

Above: Mr. Mime: Delia Ketchum's indentured servant or sex slave?

4) The Safari Zone - What's more fun than running around randomly, encountering Pokemon randomly, and having a random chance at catching them? There are a few million things more entertaining than this. Catching rare Pokemon at the various Safari Zones is tiresome and irritating. There's nothing fun about a gameplay mode which has a payoff that depends on dumb luck. Similar to the run button, this is just an antiquated "feature" that needs to die. How many hours did you spend trying to catch a Chansey in Fire Red's Safari Zone? It took most people more than a few and none of those hours were any fun.

5) Delia Ketchum's Mr. Mime - Okay, this one is from the cartoon and not the games, but we felt strongly about its inclusion. We're pretty sure Ash's mom is engaging in some form of slavery. Her Mr. Mime hangs around the house and does all the chores. We're fairly positive that he doesn't earn a salary. At best, it's indentured servitude. At worst, there's some slavery - possibly of the kinky variety - going on in Kanto and Officer Jenny needs to pay a visit to the Ketchum household.
